Classic Cabernet aromas of boysenberry, anise, and blackberry liquor, intermingle with hints of pipe tobacco and exotic spices. Flavors of the darkest fruits such as ultra ripe raspberry, black currant, dried black cherry, and blood plum with oak derived notes of caramel, toasted coconut, and briarwood. Tight tannins create texture while a delicate thread of acidity maintains flavors well into the finish. Enjoy with a choice cut filet mignon or roasted leg of lamb.
The 2018 harvest in Napa Valley can be summed up as beautiful, from start to finish. A wet winter with cool temperatures led to a prolonged growing season, allowing the Cabernet grapes to ripen evenly and fully. Strong fruit set in the spring and subsequent abundant yields did not diminish the outstanding quality or fruit intensity. Excellent structure and balance on these fruit-driven wines are hallmarks of the vintage.
